DESCRIPTION: The intermediate workshop is designed to meet the needs of the intermediate who has an understanding of basic beadmaking fundamentals as well as the individual who might be inbetween the intermediate to advanced skillset. 

Up to 50 techniques are covered.  
Some of the techniques covered are: Glass color theory, color layering, color mixing, illusion stringers, pulling down commercial zanfirico canes, reactive glass study, reduction glass study = stringer application, murrine application, metallic glass, silvered ivory stringers, double and triple poked dots, complex bubble entrapments, deep encasement twists, one encasement technique, sculptured beads (flower and teddy bear), encased puffy hearts, hollow beads, adventurine chunks, mastering Rubino, making matched pairs, understanding the nature of striking colors, cosmic universe basics,  filligrana, pulling down cullet, modified adventurine, basic single layered encased flower, introduction to dichroic glass (no encasement/surface application), copper & silver foil, using veiled cane,  , a coe tour through 33 / 90 / 96 / 104 coe types at the torch, and the list goes on, and on....

and the breakdown of the 10 key flame areas used.  An in depth
understanding of heat control is spaced throughout every torch exercise as level

workshop.  They are designed to cover easy - complex levels of surface difficulty as well as layered encasement methods. 

Students will use ALL of the most popular clears on the market today:  Aether, Zepher, Effetre, Super Clear, Vetrofond, CiM Messy clear, Lauscha, and TAG clarity. 

Fun inclusion work with foil, CZ's, mesh, and dichroic glass is slipped in as time and your pace of working permits. 

Silver glass rules of encasement is also touched on!

Description:  Complex Petal construction , vine study, illusion layering, micro layering, & techniques to achieve perfection from bead hole to bead hole in all your encased beads. 

Beads as the one shown take several hours to construct.  I teach you each element of construction within individual torch exercises, and bring it all together in finished works during day 3.
 
This is an advanced workshop.  All floral techinques I presently use are covered within this module.


THIS IS AN ADVANCED WORKSHOP. THE ENCASEMENT MODULE IS A PREREQUISITE UNLESS STUDENTS CAN CLEAN ENCASE (THIN AND THICK) WITHOUT SMEARING OR DISTORTION OF BASE DESIGNS USING 3 EXISTING METHODS.



Flowers Flowers Everywhere: Comprehensive Encased Floral Construction
Description: 
If the magical allure of borosilicate glass has called out to your creative spirit, this is the class for you.  Your beads and pendant will created with momka, trautman color, northstar, glass alchemy, parramore, and borostix glass.  This provides you with a basic understanding of how beautiful all the other worldly colors of boro are.  Understanding how to make your color POP is the main topic of this workshop.

Some of the topics covered: Understanding all the key differences between soft and borosilicate glass, using a polariscope to identify stress in glass,  secrets to achieving beautiful borosilicate color, extensive study on color selection and color families, understanding the differences between self strike/flame strike/kiln strike glass,utilization of your kiln as a tool, flame settings & why you need to switch things up, complex borosilicate cane construction. color layering, color mixing, mastery of haze entrapment, introduction to larger torches (optional), taming cadmium colors, tour of all whites on the market, using borostix, and one pendant creation to understand the fundamentals of off mandrel work.
